It's been awhile since I've posted something due to other important stuff I needed to do... And I guess it's high time for me to get back to writing. Again, these treats were sent by my good friend, H. A. All the way from Japan - thanks much!
Actually, These chips were long consumed way back the month of July. Some relatives stayed for a few days and we had a drinking night so I thought of letting them try these chips to ask for their feedback.
There were three chips that we sampled. We all agreed that these were good beer matches. Surprisingly, these chips had their counterparts available in the local market:
Calbee Shrimp = Oishi
Calbee Potato = Jack n Jill Vcut
Spicy Potato Shoestring = Piknik
The taste of these Japanese chips were very similar to the local ones. But if we were to rank the chips based on preference, we'd rank the potato shoestrings first mainly because it was spicy and we love spicy stuff. The second one would be the Calbee Potato chips; potato chips would always be better than other kinds of chips. And lastly, it would be the Calbee shrimp chips since (flavor-wise) it was okay.
Personally, what I like about these Japanese chips are their serving size. Each pack only contained around 70-150 calories. So if you're on a diet and you're craving for chips, you can still indulge eating it without feeling too guilty about. Unlike what we have here in the Phils., one pack would be around 300 calories (in my opinion). So, grabbing a pack of chips wouldbe more sinful in a sense.
And that's about it. Will do more Japanese treats blogs soon. Stay tuned. Thanks once again, H. A. Glad to know you love Jollibee! Hehehe! 😉
