Tiger Beer Black Strong (Beer Review)

Due to the intense heat in Manila, I decided to lurk around the nearest mall from my aunt's home and buy some beer. While trying to decide which of my local favorites I would have, my attention was caught by Tiger Beer Black Strong. If I'm not mistaken, it's a pretty popular brand in other Asian countries. What made me purchase it was it's price - it was only 44.50 php at 500 ml while my go-to beers (SMB Pale Pilsen, Red Horse, SMB Light) were around 40 php at only 330 ml.

Upon arriving at my aunt's place, I placed it in the fridge to chill and enjoy it in the evening. I was actually quite excited to try it and compare how it would stand against local beers.

At first gulp, it was refreshing of course. Although its taste isn't that full-bodied as that of the Pale Pilsen. Moreover, though it has a high alcohol content (6.9%) it lacked the immediate beer buzz that I like in Red Horse. Anyhow, it was still good esp. because of its very competitive price.

If this beer would be the only thing available, I'd happily drink it. But if the triple threat of local beers are present, then I'd go for them... maybe I'm just too faithful in supporting local products. 🍺🍻
